Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was seen cautioning KL Rahul during the IND vs ENG Lord's Test 2025. The India vs England test series has spiced up since the Edgbaston test. India leveled the series to 1-1 with a win at Birmingham after their loss in the first game at Leeds.

India might have batted stunningly in the Headingley test, but failed to make an impact on several concerned areas, the biggest of them being fielding. However, they pulled it back at Edgbaston, where the middle order contributed significantly and the fielders did a fairly good job.

Coming into Lord's, nothing can go wrong, an example of which was seen when Ravindra Jadeja, the seniormost player in the side, cautioned KL Rahul to focus on the field. Jadeja bowled to Joe Root, and KL Rahul at first slip was busy making changes somewhere else.

Ravindra Jadeja stopped midway through his run-up to caution Rahul, saying, 'Keep a watch, otherwise you would say, "I was not ready."'

Rahul immediately replied, pointing out his thumb and saying, 'Thank you'.

Ravindra Jadeja strikes unsettling England

India started the day off well with Jasprit Bumrah taking the new ball alongside Edgbaston's hero Akash Deep. However, despite a good spell, Bumrah remained wicketless on his return spell. Akash Deep could also not produce an impact like he did at Edgbaston, despite some considerable help from the track.

India's fortune turned with the introduction of the fourth seamer by Shubman Gill; Nitish Kumar Reddy struck twice in his first over to dismiss both the English openers. However, another edge from Ollie Pope was dropped despite a desperate attempt from Shubman Gill.

After that double strike, Joe Root and Ollie Pope stabilized the English innings before Ravindra Jadeja changed their plans just after tea.

The post-lunch session might have been frustrating for the Indian bowlers, but Ravindra Jadeja bowled a sharp spinning delivery, which took an edge off Ollie Pope's reluctant drive and was caught sharply by substitute wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel.

This was followed by a stunner from Jasprit Bumrah that baffled Harry Brook, clipping the top of his off stump.

England go past 250 on Day 1

The opening stand was decent between the two English openers; however, a sudden bowling change and an unexpected one worked for Shubman Gill. Ben Duckett was dismissed first, edging off a down-the-leg delivery to Rishabh Pant.

He next bowled a perfect delivery that swirled outside after pitching on the off-stump, which took a thin edge of Zack Crawley. England veteran Joe Root then showed his experience as the batter put on a big stand alongside Ollie Pope.

England did not lose any more wickets until tea; however, India bounced back in the final session of the game. The scoring rate was always under control, and this time Jadeja and Bumrah picked up two wickets to leave England in another compromised situation.

However, England's two most experienced batters as of now, Root and skipper Ben Stokes, ended the day with 251/4, losing no further wickets.

Joe Root is just a step away from surpassing an Australian great

Joe Root is already one of the greatest to have played in the longest format of the game, as he currently is the fifth-highest run-getter in the format. He now has 13214 runs and is just 75 runs behind, surpassing the former Indian coach Rahul Dravid's tally of test runs.

Another run added can take him past South African veteran Jacques Kallis' test runs tally, while he also challenges Ricky Ponting, and if not in this test, he is sure to surpass him before the Ashes.

As far as the Lord's test is concerned, Root currently sits not out on 99* at the end of Day 1, and with one run, Root will make it to his 37th Test century, and with that will surpass Australia's Steve Smith for most Test hundreds among the current players in the Fab-4.
