Reece Topley, on Sunday (June 1) took a brilliant catch to send back Prabhsimran Singh during the ongoing IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted a huge total of 203/6 in the allotted 20 overs. While none of the Mumbai Indians batsmen could score a fifty, several of them played crucial knocks to guide their team to a 200-plus total.
Suryakumar Yadav bails out MI again
Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav top-scored for the five-time champions with both of them scoring 44 runs each.
Jonny Bairstow also played an important 38-run at the top of the order before Naman Dhir scored 37 runs from just 19 balls towards the end to help Mumbai Indians cross the 200-run mark. For Punjab, Azmatullah Omarzai was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 wickets for 43 runs.
Trent Boult breaks the opening partnership
Mumbai Indians needed a good start with the ball and they got it thanks to a brilliant effort from Reece Topley. The England pacer took a brilliant catch at short fine leg to send back the dangerous Prabhsimran Singh cheaply.
On the first ball of the third over, Trent Boult bowled a short delivery on the off stump and Prabhsimran went for a pull shot. However, the right-handed batsman ended up top-edging the ball which flew behind the stumps. Reece Topley kept his eyes on the ball till the end while running before completing a brilliant two-handed catch.

Coming to the match, Punjab Kings were on 39 for 1 in the 5th over at the time of writing this report. Opener Priyansh Arya was batting on 20 while Josh Inglis was on 13. Both Arya and Inglis had scored fifties against Mumbai Indians during the league stage and Punjab Kings will be hoping that they deliver with the bat again.
