On Day 2 of the ongoing India Women vs England Women Test match, Indian pacer Renuka Singh castled England opener Sophia Dunkley to grab her first-ever wicket in Test cricket. Renuka Singh also dismissed Dunkley to give the first breakthrough to the team.
India Women and England Women are facing each other in the only Test of England Women’s tour of India 2023. Earlier, they played a T20I series which England won 2-1. Notably, India Women are playing a Test match at home after 9 years.

In the match, England Women posted a gigantic total of 428-10 in 1st innings. Later, Renuka Singh clinched the first England wicket in the 3rd over itself. The right-arm pacer bowled an in-swing delivery to smash Sophia Dunkey’s stumps. Dunkey could only score 11 runs before losing her wicket. Have a look at the video below.

Renuka Singh could only grab 1 wicket in the 1st innings after England Women were bowled out for just 136. Nat Sciver-Brunt hit the most 59 runs for the team as other batters could not cross the 20-run mark. Indian spinner Deepti Sharma clinched a 5-wicket haul. Sneh Rana got 2 wickets while Pooja Vastrakar picked 1 wicket.

Earlier, India Women piled up a mountainous 428-10 in 1st innings. Shubha Satheesh (69), Jemmimah Rodrigues (68), Yastika Bhatia (66), and Deepti Sharma (67) smacked spectacular half-centuries to drive the scoreboard to a mammoth total. Lauren Bell and Sophie Ecclestone grabbed 3 wickets each for England Women.
After dismissing England Women for just 136, India Women have earned a massive lead of 292 runs in the match. Earlier, India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bat first. The encounter takes place at DY Patil Cricket Stadium in Mumbai.
