India women bowler Renuka Singh produced a stunning delivery in the ongoing 1st ODI against the South Africa women. The match between the two teams is underway at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday (16th June).

After putting a target of 265 runs on the board, Renuka Singh made sure that she took her team off to a dream start with the ball. The fast bowler oozed his class with the new ball and made sure that she drew the first blood for her team in the first over.

Renuka Singh produced a sensational delivery to remove Laura Wolvaardt. The right-arm pacer bowled a delivery on a good length outside off. The ball seamed in after landing. The batter left a big bat-pad gap as she pushed at it but the ball went through the gate to crash into the stumps.

Here’s the video:

Laura Wolvaardt, who was stunned after her dismissal, couldn’t set the stage on fire with the bat as she managed just four runs with the bat. Her wicked allowed the India team to get into the game early as after that they chipped in with quite a few wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

After her wicket, Pooja Vastrakar chipped and removed Anneke Bosch before Deepti Sharma removed Tanzim Brits. Asha Sobhana also joined the wickets column as well and India left South African women tottering at 74/5.

Earlier with the bat, India had a decent outing. They initially struggled to get going as they were left reeling at 99/5. However, after that, it was Smriti Mandhana, who held the fort for her team and made sure she took her team to a competitive total with the bat.

She slammed a magical ton and ended with an innings of 117 runs. Deepti Sharma (37) along with Pooja Vastrakar (31) supported her well as India posted a total of 265 runs on the board at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

I controlled my shots and it worked well - Smriti Mandhana after her valiant innings

Smriti Mandhana talked about her innings with the bat and stated that she was delighted that the team got a good total. While talking about the wicket she highlighted the need to bowl well. The opening batter also talked about partnership before adding that she controlled her shots and it paid off. She explained:

“Thank you, I knew that I had never scored a century in India but it didn’t come to my mind when I was batting.

"(On her partnership with Deepti) She came around in the 22nd over, we stitched a good partnership together, we ended up getting 5-6 runs an over. Playing ODI cricket after a long time, it was hard to control my shots in the nets. We have been playing T20 cricket since the last 5-6 months so it’s hard to resist the temptation. I controlled my shots and it worked well. Since the last few days, the focus has been on keeping the ball on the ground,” she concluded.
