India started off with a loss in the first Test at Headingley, but for the Indian batters, it was a dream start to their campaign in England. The first Test itself saw five centuries from four of the Indian batters.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant all scored vital hundreds in the first innings, while opener KL Rahul and, once again, Rishabh Pant made centuries in the second innings as well, giving their best for the Indian side.

However, the internet was set blazing after Indian coach Gautam Gambhir, in a long post-match press conference, denied applauding Pant's twin hundred alone and asked for a mention of every centurion. His words were, "The question could have been framed better."

Rishabh Pant's fans doubted a strained relationship between the player and the coach

After the former Indian player and current coach of the side refused to provide an individual response on Rishabh Pant's twin hundreds, the equation between the player and coach has been rumoured to be strained.

Earlier, there had been claims that Rishabh Pant, after his U-19 World Cup debut for India, missed out on several opportunities to play for his state team, Delhi. This opportunity was seemingly turned down by the then Delhi captain, and Gautam Gambhir was leading the domestic side during those days.

Watch: Pant and Gambhir end debates once and for all

After Rishabh Pant suffered an injury during wicket-keeping on Day 1 of the Lord's Test, he left the field despite the physios looking to do everything possible on the field to relieve him of any discomfort.

Pant left the field and was immediately replaced by Dhruv Jurel, who was the substitute wicket-keeper in place of Pant. Jurel was a fielder even on Day 2 as the substitute wicket-keeper and made a great impact behind the stumps, though he missed an opportunity of Siraj as well.

On the second day of the India vs England third Test, Pant was seen on the Lord's balcony having a good laugh alongside head coach Gautam Gambhir during the final session of the game, before he had to come out to bat.

Not only did Pant, often known as the mischievous one, laugh his heart out, but it seemed from the faces that even Gautam Gambhir was enjoying the fun chat with the Indian cricketer.

BCCI provides update on Pant

The BCCI has updated that Pant will not be taking the field as India's wicket-keeper since his finger is still under the watch of the medical team. However, citing his crucial role as a batter, he is given this extra care.

However, Pant was seen going through throwdowns in the nets before the end of the England innings, and the physio was keeping a watch on him. He eventually had to come out to bat as skipper Shubman Gill missed out on runs this time around.
