Digvesh Rathi shines in LSG’s thrilling win over MI in the IPL 2025
With the premier pacers Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan out due to injuries, Digvesh Rathi has turned out to be a go-to bowler for the Lucknow Super Giants so far in the ongoing IPL 2025.
The mystery spinner impressed everyone by taking the important wicket of Naman Dhir and giving away only 21 runs in his four overs against the Mumbai Indians. His clever bowling played a big role in LSG’s thrilling win over MI.
Meanwhile, during the presentation ceremony, commentator Ian Bishop had a chat with Digvesh. Since the mystery spinner wasn’t very comfortable speaking in English, LSG captain Rishabh Pant stepped in as his translator, making it a heartwarming moment for the fans.

Digvesh Rathi expresses elation over his performances
Speaking through Pant, Digvesh said that he’s really happy with how things are going and that he enjoys attacking the batters. The LSG star also revealed that he looks up to KKR's Sunil Narine as his inspiration, and he wants to become a top spinner like his idol.
Digvesh Singh said, as quoted by Rishabh Pant at the post-match presentation, “Yes, I am enjoying the way I am performing. I like to attack the batter. I like to take wickets whenever I bowl.”
Rathi revealed that he wants to bowl with the same attacking mindset as his idol Narine. He also noted that watching the bowling of the West Indies spinner inspired him to enjoy his bowling more.

Digvesh Rathi wants to become a spinner like Sunil Narine
He added, “Since the time I watched Sunil Narine bowl, I started enjoying my bowling. I want to be more attacking in terms of mindset, like Sunil Narine has been over the years. He stays very calm in pressure situations, and I want to work on that and be like that.”
Rathi also revealed how he planned the crucial wicket of Naman Dhir. The mystery spinner has noted that he had a quick word with his captain, Pant, and requested a fielder at mid-wicket, but he denied it at that moment, and he decided to bowl straight at the stumps, knowing that the MI batter was likely to go for a big shot.
His smart thinking paid off as Dhir was dismissed for 46 runs off 24 balls. Digvesh Rathi signed off by saying, “Before that was over, I had a chat with you (Pant). I wanted a fielder at mid-wicket, but the skipper did not give that. That's why I wanted to bowl it at the stumps, as I knew he would play that shot.”
