Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud was on fire on Day 1 of the ongoing first Test against India at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Mahmud got all the big fish on the opening day of the two-match Test series opener, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Shubman Gill.

He was responsible for Team India’s early damage in the ongoing first Test in Chennai, with the hosts reeling at 34/4 before Pant (39) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (56) joined hands to pull them out of the precarious situation at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

"Allah Jab Bhi Deta Chhappar Faad Ke": Hasan Mahmud and Bangladesh taunt Rishabh Pant in Chennai Test

Well, Hasan Mahmud’s stunning display gave the Bangladesh cricket team many moments to celebrate, and one of them is currently going viral on social media, where they were trying to provoke Pant after getting the better of the Indian wicketkeeper-batter in the 26th over in the match.

Rishabh Pant, facing Hasan Mahmud, played a loose shot that led to his downfall after a promising start on his Test comeback. The Bangladesh pacer bowled a short and outside-off delivery, which tempted the left-handed batter into a cut but under-edged it with a simple catch for Litton Das behind the stumps.

Following his dismissal, Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir's anger was clear as he shook his head in frustration. On the other hand, Rishabh Pant was also seen angry with himself as he slammed his bat on his pad while walking off after scoring 39 off 52 balls.

After getting his fourth wicket on Day 1 in Chennai, Hasan Mahmud and Bangladesh’s confidence was soaring high, and, at that moment, they added fuel to the fire by launching a sly dig at the Indian wicketkeeper-batter when he was making his way back to the dugout.

As Rishabh Pant was walking back to the dugout, Hasan Mahmud and his Bangladeshi teammates were taunting him by saying, “Allah Jab Bhi Deta Chhappar Faad Ke Deta Hain. (When God gives, He gives in abundance.)”

The Indian star avoided any interaction with the Tigers, but it seems that during the tourists’ batting, it will certainly be a Pant Show behind the stump mic to take his revenge.

You can't call them an underdog anymore: Ashwin on the Bangladesh team

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja's (86) and Ravichandran Ashwin’s (108*) record partnership of 199 runs took India to a commanding position against Bangladesh. India’s current score reads 376/7 in the ongoing first Test against the Tigers in Chennai.

Notably, Jadeja and Ashwin’s 199-run partnership in Chennai is the fifth-highest partnership against Bangladesh in Test cricket for any wicket. Currently Ashwin and Akash Deep are riding the ship for India to the big total on the board after early damage by the tourists in Chennai.

Earlier, Ashwin said on Bangladesh’s performance in Chennai: “I am one of those guys who loves to see the underdog come out and perform. You can't call them an underdog anymore, they have played some wonderful cricket. They challenged us in Bangladesh when we were there the last time. Really looking forward to a good series.”
