India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is known for his on-field antics. Not only Pant is entertaining with his constant chirping while wicketkeeping, but he is also an entertainer when he is batting.

During India's second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh, Rishabh Pant was seen doing something that hardly any cricketer would ever do. While he was batting, Pant asked Najmul Hossain Shanto to move his fielders.

Interestingly, Shanto also obliged and a fielder was soon moved to the position that Pant was suggesting him to. It was a surprising moment not only for the viewers but also for the spectators on the ground.

In the video, Rishabh Pant can be seen setting Bangladesh's field before the next ball can be bowled. The left-hander looked in a positive mood from the start and Bangladesh were having a tough time handling his aggressive intent.

Rishabh Pant smashes half-century

But it was not the usual Pant who just went after every ball. The wicketkeeper-batter took his time and saw off the early half an hour. After getting his eye in, he started going for his shots and put the bowlers under pressure.

Rishabh Pant played an enterprising knock in the first innings as well. Despite India losing 3 wickets in the first 10 overs, Pant continued to play positively which helped India in getting the momentum.

He scored 39 off 52 balls, smashing 6 fours during his knock. While it was not a big innings, it was a significant one as it put the pressure back on Bangladesh. Pant showed how to bat on such tracks which is providing constant help for the seamers.

While Pant missed out on a fifty in the first innings, he reached his half-century in the second innings. This is his first Test fifty since his comeback from the life-threatening accident in December 2022. He scored a fifty in his first Test after his comeback.

Ravichandran Ashwin's brilliant knock

Apart from Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin smashed a belligerent hundred on his home ground and scored 113 off 133 balls. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a fighting fifty while allrounder Ravindra Jadeja scored a brilliant 86.

Hasan Mahmud grabbed a fantastic five-wicket haul for Bangladesh while Taskin Ahmed also chipped in with 3 wickets. But India managed to score 376 on a tricky batting surface.

Indian bowlers put on a splendid show in Bangladesh's first innings by bowling them out for 149 and thus, taking a lead of 227 runs. Bumrah picked up four wickets for India while Siraj, Akash Deep, and Jadeja picked up two wickets each.

India lost three wickets by the end of Day 2 but were in a good position. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant started Day 3 splendidly and scored runs freely to take India to a position of comfort.
