Rishabh Pant is a well-known batter and a wicketkeeper but he was seen in a different avatar during the practice session ahead of India's second Test match against Bangladesh at Kanpur.

In the practice, Pant was seen bowling a few balls to Shubman Gill, who was happy to face a few balls from the wicketkeeper. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on social media, Pant showed his spin bowling skills.

The video involved three Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul. Seeing Rishabh roll his arm over, Rahul asked him, "Rishabh tune Delhi Premier League me bhi bowling kari thi naa (Rishabh, you bowled in the Delhi Premier League as well, right)?

Rishabh replied back by saying, "Aur kya! Ek run chahiye tha (Yes, just one run was needed). Pant kept bowling to Gill who gleefully kept on practicing. At the end of his nets session, Gill was heard saying, "Tagdi practice karwayi thi tune Rishabh (I had a great practice with you)."

The partnership between Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill were involved in a magnificent partnership in the first Test between India and Bangladesh in Chennai. Both the youngsters came together when India were 67-3 in the second innings.

But Pant and Gill played their innings to perfection and knocked Bangladesh out of the game. Both of them stitched together a partnership of 167 runs for the fourth wicket. It was a great sign for India ahead of an important red-ball season.

Pant smashed 109 off 128 balls with 13 fours and 4 sixes while Gill scored 119 off 176 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes. Gill remained unbeaten till the end and made a superb comeback from his duck in the first innings.

Pant had a great match on his comeback to Test cricket after his life-threatening accident. The wicketkeeper-batter scored a vital 39 in the first innings too which helped India get out of a tricky situation.

The form of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant is a great sign for India. After the ongoing series against Bangladesh, India will play New Zealand for three Tests at home. The Men in Blue will then face a stern test from Australia in their own conditions. Australia will host India for a five-match Test series later this year.
