Indian keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant took a fine catch off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling as India struck thrice on day three of the first Test against England in Nottingham. Dominic Sibley proved to be India’s third wicket of the day as he edged it behind to Rishabh Pant, who snared a smart catch. However, it was not before England took the lead.

The dismissal occurred in the 46th over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah and the sixth after lunch. Though the ball was not full enough to drive through the covers, Dom Sibley threw his hands at it. He managed to get the higher part of the bat, flying away from Pant. However, the gloveman was quick to react and dived to his right to take the catch. India desperately needed that wicket.

Sibley’s outstanding effort of crease occupation came to an end and so did the partnership of 89 with Joe Root. Within the first hour of the morning session, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah sent back Rory Burns and Zak Crawley, respectively. However, with the pitch easing up, Root and Sibley survived some close calls to get the home side back in the game. England currently have a lead of above 50 and should capitalize on it.
