Yudhvir Singh gets the better of Rohit Sharma after the incident
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma’s struggle in the Ranji game was clear, and eventually he was dismissed for another poor score, extending his batting slump. The Indian captain started aggressively, racing to 21 off just 11 balls, but slowed down for the next 15-20 minutes, as he was carefully blocking and leaving deliveries with ease in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match in Mumbai.
However, in the 14th over, Rohit Sharma attempted a big shot down the ground off Yudhvir Singh. The senior Indian opener mistimed the length ball, getting an inside edge that flew towards midwicket. And Abid Mushtaq didn’t make any mistake, as he showcased excellent reflexes by twisting around and leaping just in time to grab a stunning one-handed catch.

Rohit had to leave after making 28 off 35 balls, including two fours and three sixes for Mumbai, as they are struggling to counter Jammu and Kashmir’s attack in the Ranji clash at the BKC Ground, which has very good bounce on its pitch. Notably, the right-handed batter had scored just three runs off 19 deliveries in the first innings against Jammu and Kashmir.

Following the quick setbacks, Mumbai slipped from a comfortable 54/0 to 57/3, and they are still trailing by 30 runs after Jammu and Kashmir made 206 runs in their first innings in reply to Mumbai’s 120 in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 clash at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC.
