How did Rohit Sharma perform in India vs Afghanistan ODI series?
Away from the airport incident, Rohit enjoyed a productive outing in India's recently concluded ODI series against Afghanistan. Although he failed to convert starts into a century, the opener looked in good touch throughout the three-match contest.
The series began on a disappointing note for Rohit as he was run out for 16 in the first ODI following a mix-up while attempting a quick single. Despite the early setback, India comfortably chased down the target and took a 1-0 lead in the series.
Rohit responded strongly in the second ODI. He attacked Afghanistan's bowlers from the outset and raced to 48 off just 39 balls, striking six fours and two sixes. Just when a half-century looked inevitable, Rashid Khan produced a brilliant delivery to clean him up and end his innings two runs short of the milestone.
The former Indian captain saved his best performance for the final ODI. Batting with authority at the top of the order, Rohit hammered 79 off 69 balls, including nine boundaries and three sixes.
