India National Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli failed to make an impact with the bat in the second innings of the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh National Cricket Team. MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is hosting the first game of the two-match Test series between the teams.
Virat Kohli came to bat early in the second innings after the India National Cricket Team lost both openers early. The batter looked solid at the crease, and with the way he was batting, it seemed that big innings were on the cards as he was batting with complete control.
But hopes of getting a big score didn't last long as Virat Kohli was trapped in lbw by Mehidy Hasan Miraz just around the stumps on Day 2. The batter could've been not out, but he only had himself to blame as he didn't opt for DRS despite edging the ball.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz bowled a full ball to which Kohli got forward to clip it through the on-side and got beaten on the inside edge. He got rapped low on the front pad adjacent to the off-stump and was given out by the umpire. He had a chat with Shubman Gill but opted against taking DRS.

It looked plumb, but later, the ultra edge showed there was a big spike as the ball passed the bat. Virat Kohli had no idea that he nicked the ball, and when later it was shown on the big screen, the crowd erupted, and even commentators looked dejected.
But what caught the attention of many was skipper Rohit Sharma, who was sitting in the dugout. The India captain was fuming as he gestured it was bat to Virat Kohli, who made a big blunder despite being looking in good touch.
Watching Kohli make a blunder even umpire Richard Ketteborough couldn't control his laughter. He kept his head down and gave a cheeky smile. Shubman Gill looked dejected as well he too couldn't convince the batter to opt for DRS.

Kohli, who scored 6 runs in the first innings, ended up scoring 17 runs off 37 balls. The right-hander also slammed two boundaries in his innings and surely would be gutted with the way he got out, especially with stumps around the corner.
Coming to the match, India has taken command of the match. After bundling out Bangladesh National Cricket Team for just 149 runs in response to their 376 runs, they have batted well in the second innings. Shubman Gill has looked solid at the crease and was unbeaten at 33 runs off 64 balls.
Rishabh Pant, who came after Kohli's wicket, played the attacking brand of cricket. He was batting at 12 runs off 13 balls with one four and one six as India ended Day 2 on 81/3 with a mammoth lead of 308 runs on the board.
