These mandatory fitness tests were conducted by BCCI ahead of the jam-packed international cricket season, where the Men In Blue will be in action across all three formats.

India's immediate challenge is the Asia Cup 2025, and after that, they will have a home Test series against the West Indies before travelling to Australia for the white-ball series.

Meanwhile, the likes of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill, Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jitesh Sharma, and others were spotted at the Centre of Excellence for fitness tests.

They underwent several drills under the new strength and conditioning coach, Adrian le Roux, and all the players cleared the fitness tests.

Reportedly, Rohit performed well in the fitness tests, and he looked quite lean when he returned to Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma attends Ganesh Chaturthi festivities

After returning to Mumbai, Rohit decided to offer prayers and seek blessings from Lord Ganesha during the Ganesh Chaturthi. As he entered the venue, a sea of fans surged around him, and everyone wanted to see the batting superstar up close.

When his car entered, the chants of 'Mumbaicha Raja Rohit Sharma' erupted, and he was seen acknowledging the fans. Also, he was mobbed by fans, but didn't lose his cool and just passed on a smile to his supporters.

However, a point came when Rohit Sharma actually lost his cool and looked frustrated. This happened when the fans started chants of 'Mumbaicha Raja Rohit Sharma' instead of Ganpati Bappa Morya, and he requested fans with folded hands not to do that and only worship Lord Ganesha.

Rohit is currently active only as an ODI cricketer at the international level, as he had retired from T20I cricket after winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 and from Test cricket ahead of the five-match series against the England National Cricket Team.

He will be next seen in action when India travel to Australia for the ODI and T20I series and would be looking to deliver a good performance to keep his 2027 ODI World Cup hopes alive.
