Mumbai Indians Seek Revenge After 12-Run Loss to Lucknow Super Giants

Earlier this month, the Mumbai Indians suffered a 12-run loss against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium. Rohit Sharma missed that match due to injury.

The 37-year-old has returned to form at a crucial stage of the season. He started with a duck against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Rohit scored fifties against CSK and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the last two matches. He scored an unbeaten 76 off 45 balls against CSK, followed by 70 off 46 against SRH.

On the other hand, Shardul Thakur has performed well for LSG after replacing the injured Mohsin Khan. He is the leading wicket-taker for his team with 12 dismissals in nine games. Shardul picked up 1/40 in his four-over spell, including the key wicket of Ryan Rickelton, in the match against MI.

Lucknow Super Giants’ Roller-Coaster Season So Far in IPL 2025

Lucknow Super Giants have experienced an up-and-down season so far. They have won five of their nine matches. The team has 10 points, but a negative net run rate (NRR) has pushed them to sixth place on the points table.

Nicholas Pooran has been the best performer for LSG with the bat. He is second in the overall run-scoring charts for IPL 2025. Pooran has amassed 377 runs from nine innings, maintaining an impressive average of 47.12 and a strike rate of 204.89.

The Wankhede surface typically favors T20 cricket, offering early movement due to light grass and sea breeze, before settling into a batter-friendly pitch as the match progresses.
