Rohit Sharma had a brief scare after India’s first ODI against West Indies when he slipped while getting off the team bus at the team hotel. The incident took place after India’s eight-wicket win in Thiruvananthapuram.
A staff member and a police personnel were quick to assist Rohit after he lost his footing. The former India captain was able to get up with their help, while Virat Kohli was seen watching the incident with concern.

Rohit Sharma had a relatively short stay at the crease during India's first ODI against West Indies at the Greenfield International Stadium on Sunday, September 27. The opener scored 32 runs from 35 deliveries, hitting two fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 91.42.
Rohit and Shubman Gill put India in a strong position during the chase after West Indies posted 295/7. However, the veteran batter was dismissed in the 12th over by Alzarri Joseph.
Joseph bowled a full delivery on middle at around 141kph, with Rohit attempting his trademark flick. The shot did not come off the middle of the bat and the ball ballooned towards deep midwicket, where Jewel Andrew completed the catch.
Rohit Sharma had earlier received a reprieve, but Joseph eventually won the contest between the two players. His dismissal left India 74/1, although the hosts remained firmly in control of the chase.
Following the game, Rohit Sharma was involved in an unexpected moment while the Indian team arrived at their hotel. As he stepped down from the team bus, the right-hander appeared to lose his footing and slipped.
A staff member immediately moved towards Rohit Sharma to help him, while a police personnel also stepped in. Rohit was assisted back to his feet as those around him checked on him.
Virat Kohli, who had just produced a match-winning century during the game, was also seen watching the incident. The footage showed Kohli appearing concerned as Rohit received assistance.

Rohit Sharma fails but Virat Kohli shines with stunning ton
While Rohit could not make a major contribution with the bat, Kohli produced one of his most aggressive ODI innings. The veteran batter remained unbeaten on 139 from just 88 deliveries, smashing 10 fours and nine sixes.
Kohli's 55th ODI century helped India chase down West Indies' 295/7 with ease. He also crossed the 15,000-run mark in ODI cricket during the innings, becoming only the second batter to achieve the feat.
Former India opener Aakash Chopra praised Kohli for producing an attacking version of his batting. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra said the innings represented an evolved version of the former India captain rather than his traditional approach.
"This isn’t vintage. This is completely upgraded. This is updated. Who had seen Virat Kohli like this before? This guy said no. He said, ‘I’m going to change.’ These things are going to change. Why? Because I think I need to change the expectations. I mean, whatever you people keep expecting, I’m now going to play in my own style. If playing aggressively is possible, then that’s what I’m going to do. Nine, the most in an ODI innings by Virat Kohli. These are the kinds of things that usually happen in the first half of a career. You don’t see these things after 303 innings. But he did that too.
“So this was not vintage, bro. It was Virat Kohli in a completely aggressive, authoritative, assertive avatar. It’s the kind of avatar that, the more you watch, the more you admire him,” he added.
