India's modern-day greats Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli played key roles in the team's Champions Trophy 2025 title victory. While Kohli was excellent throughout the tournament, Rohit played a match-winning knock in the all-important final against New Zealand in Dubai.
After India completed the victory, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli posed with a stump in their hands in front of the camera. Both the seniors smiled and looked quite pleased and satisfied with their performances.
However, their conversation was leaked on social media which ended the rumours about their retirement from international cricket. Rohit was heard saying to Kohli that they are not retiring anytime soon.
"Bhai hum koi retire nahi ho rahe hai beh....d, maa ki **** inko to lag raha hai," Rohit said to Kohli as the latter broke out into laughter. Both posed for some pictures and then walked off the field.

There has been immense pressure on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli about their future in international cricket, especially after their disappointing performances in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy recently.
Before this match, a PTI report speculated that this could be Rohit's final ODI of his career and he might even retire from international cricket after the home Test series against West Indies. However, Rohit proved that this is not the case as yet.

Both the seniors played key roles in India's Champions Trophy 2025 win. Rohit Sharma scored 180 runs in five matches at an average of 36. On a pitch where batting wasn't easy, Rohit was able to maintain a good strike rate of 100. He scored 76 off 83 balls which included 7 fours and 3 sixes and was adjudged the Player of the Match in the final.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli scored 218 runs at an average of 54.50 and a strike rate of 82.88 with 1 hundred and 1 fifty. He played vital knocks against Pakistan and Australia to help bail out of trouble and win the match.

In the final, Rohit Sharma gave India a flying start which set the tone for the rest of the innings. The Indian skipper went at his usual batting tempo and played aggressive cricket in the powerplay.
India struck 64 runs in the first 10 overs without losing any wickets. Rohit completed his fifty off just 41 balls. He formed a partnership of 105 runs for the first wicket with Shubman Gill in 18.4 overs,
Rohit slowed down later as India lost quick wickets after New Zealand's spinners squeezed the runs. However, his blazing start was crucial in setting up a strong base for India's win.
