India C captain Ruturaj Gaikwad might have failed to impress with the bat, but he was just awesome on the field against India A in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 match at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur on Saturday, September 21.

Gaikwad was playing attacking cricket and cast him dearly, as he was dismissed for just 17 runs off 20 balls by Aaqib Khan. During his short stay on the crease, the India C captain smashed four boundaries. His wicket led to the downfall of India C’s top order against India A in Anantapur.

However, when India A returned to bat in the second inning, Gaikwad was absolute best, taking three crucial catches to help India C stop the run flow of the opposition in the first-class game. It all started with India. opener Pratham Singh and Gaurav Yadav got India C the first breakthrough.

Pratham attacked Gaurav with a powerful shot, but the ball flew in the middle of the ground, and Gaikwad had enough time to run after the ball to complete the stunning catch. The India C captain’s judgment, focus, and control were on display, as he earned his team the crucial breakthrough.

Later, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad removed Tilak Varma for 19 runs off 41 balls with his incredible fielding efforts off Anshul Kamboj. Later, Gaikwad pulled off a blinder to end Riyan Parag’s remarkable innings of 73 runs on 101 balls in the ongoing Duleep Troy 2024 game.
