Maharashtra star Ruturaj Gaikwad was involved in a hilarious incident with a fan during his team's ongoing Ranji Trophy game against Baroda in Nasik.
The incident took place on Friday (January 24) which was the second day of the game. Ruturaj Gaikwad and his teammates were on the field when one of the fans dashed onto the ground with a phone in his hand. The fan seemingly wanted to take a selfie with Ruturaj Gaikwad and managed to get close to him.
However, before he could ask the cricketer for the selfie, the latter decided to have some fun. The Maharashtra captain playfully started running and the determined fan started chasing him in order to take the selfie at any cost.

Gaikwad hilariously dodged and weaved around his teammates to avoid the fan, leaving the fans entertained. And as the fan was busy chasing the star batsman, the security personnel intervened. Upon seeing the security personnel, the fan started running away.
At one time, it looked like he would be caught by one of the security personnel. However, he skillfully evaded the security guards and made a daring escape from the field, leaving the crowd in splits.

Maharashtra in driver's seat:
Talking about the ongoing game, Maharashtra are firmly in the driver's seat against Baroda. After taking the first-innings lead, Maharashtra have extended the overall lead to more than 500 runs.
Maharashtra scored 297 runs in their first innings. Saurabh Nawale was the top-scorer for the team, scoring 83 runs while Atit Sheth picked up 6 wickets for Baroda.
In reply, Baroda, who started the game as table-toppers of Elite Group A, could score only 145 runs in the first innings. Mitesh Patel top-scored for Baroda, scoring 61 runs while Mukesh Choudhary picked up 3 wickets for Maharashtra.
In the second innings, Maharashtra were on 399/6 at the time of writing this report. They have extended their lead to 551 runs. After scoring a fifty in the first innings, Nawale completed his century in the second innings.
