Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar doesn’t need any introduction for what he has achieved in his 24-year-old long international. The only man on the planet to score 100 international hundreds, often known as the ‘god of cricket’ has scored over 30000 international runs. Tendulkar was also known for his classy drives and also beset some of the best bowlers in the world.

Sachin Tendulkar was once again back on the field at the age of fifty during the ‘One World vs One Family’ match. Tendulkar led the One World team and scored 27 runs from 16 balls showcasing that he still has that flare and class left in his bat.

Sachin Tendulkar fell to majestic off-spinner and Sri Lankan veteran Muttiah Muralitharan. Sachin was trying to play a shot towards the long-on region but was not able to clear his former teammate Mohammad Kaif. The incident also revived the old rivalry between Muralitharan and Tendulkar. The One World One Family Cup consists of top names such as Muttaih Muralitharan, Yuvraj Singh, Chaminda Vaas, Mohammad Kaif, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, and many more. The tournament is being held at the Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium in Sai Gramam in Bengaluru.

The Yuvraj Singh-led One Family team were able to put up a score of 180/6 while batting first. Darren Maddy smashed 51 runs from 41 balls and was the highest run scorer of his team. Yusuf Pathan and Yuvraj Singh gave some pace to the innings and scored 38 and 23 runs respectively.

RP Singh and Harbhajan Singh picked up 2 wickets each for One World whereas, Monty Panesar, Irfan Pathan, Ajantha Mendis, and captain Sachin Tendulkar picked up 1 wicket each.

Chasing down the target, Naman Ojha and Sachin Tendulkar added 31 runs for the first wicket with Naman Ojha departing for 25 runs from 18 balls. Tendulkar was the next wicket to fall for 27 runs. However, Alviro Petersen smashed 74 runs from 50 balls which included five fours and 3 sixes. Apart from Petersen, Upul Tharanga also scored 29 runs from 20 balls.

With 17 runs needed from the last two overs, Irfan Pathan showcased his brilliant hitting skills. Pathan brought down the equation from 7 runs from the last over, Pathan smashed a six down the ground to help One World register a comfortable 4 wicket win.

Chaminda Vaas picked up 3 wickets for One Family whereas Jason Krejza, Yuvraj Singh, and Muttiah Muralitharan picked up 1 wicket each.

The One World vs One Family was organized by the Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission. The main purpose of the one-off match was to collect funds the raise awareness for the sake of child healthcare. The match was free to attend for the fans but the seating was only available as per the invitation.

A total of 24 players from seven different countries including India, England, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh,  South Africa, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand came up to play the match.
