WATCH - Sadeera Samarawickrama And Praveen Jayawickrama Engage In Life Threatening Collision At Boundary In LPL 2023

In what was a tragic incident Sadeera Samarawickrama and Praveen Jayawickrama were engaged in a life-threatening collision in the game between Colombo Strikers and Dambulla Aura in the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele. 

After posting the massive total of 192 runs on the board. Dambulla Aura kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals. They kept building pressure and were quite electric on the field. But one such incident shook everyone as it could’ve ended the careers of two Dambulla Aura. 

It was during the 11th over the game when Nuwanindu Fernando miscued the slog sweep on Noor Ahmad’s delivery. The ball went high in the air towards deep mid-wicket. It seemed that it’ll be an easy catch but it was dropped and saw a collision between Sadeera Samarawickrama and Praveen Jayawickrama.

Sadeera Samarawickrama came running from the deep backward square whereas Praveen Jayawickrama came from leg converge. Both the players called for the catch but the slipped out the Samarawickrama’s hand and the two players ended up getting hurt by each other. 

Sadeera Samarawickrama was hurt on the chin whereas Praveen Jayawickrama faced a blow on the shoulder. Both of them then walked off the field and the video went viral on the internet. Here’s the collision between the two Dambulla Aura players:

After that incident, Dambula Aura kept things tight and put the opposition batters under a lot of pressure. As a result of which they ended up winning the game by the margin of 10 runs to register their first win of the season. 

LPL 2023: Sadeera Samarawickrama smashes 59 runs in an important game 

Sadeera Samarawickrama was the start for Dambulla Aura in the game against Colombo Strikers. Asked to bat first, his side lost Avishka Fernando early but after that, it was his and skipper Kusal Mendis’ show with the bat that put their side on the top. 

Sadeera Samarawickrama smashed 59 runs off 35 balls with the help of 7 fours and 1 six. His vital knock saw Dambulla Aura posting a massive target of 192 runs on the board and eventually winning the game by 10 runs.
