The Indian team insisted on accepting the trophy only from the ECB vice-chairman
The champion team, India, refused to accept the trophy from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president and Pakistan minister Mohsin Naqvi. The Champions celebrated without a trophy, since the bizarre standoff between India and Pakistan left the tournament without an official handover.
The evening drama further began when the Indian team insisted on accepting the trophy from the Emirates Cricket Board's vice-chairman, Khalid Al Zarooni. However, the PCB chief, Mohsin Naqvi, stood firm, forcing a long deadlock before he took the trophy away from the organizers.
Indian fans made their feelings clear, chanting "Bharat Maata Ki Jai" as Naqvi attempted to conduct proceedings.
