English all-rounder Sam Curran will be playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2021. The 22-year-old Sam Curran is a prominent youngster in Chennai Super Kings, a team that has a lot of old players in the squad. In a recent video, the left-handed batsman Sam Curran was seen imitating Ravindra Jadeja’s sword celebration during a practice match of the Chennai-based franchise.

Sam Curran played his debut IPL tournament in IPL 2019 for Kings XI Punjab now known as Punjab Kings. In IPL 2020, he was part of the Chennai Super Kings. In the absence of Suresh Raina for the entire IPL 2020 season and Dwayne Bravo for most of the matches, all-rounder Sam Curran played a major role for the three-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings.

Sam Curran Imitates Ravindra Jadeja’s Sword Celebration

For the last few weeks, Chennai Super Kings players are busy with the training camp in Mumbai. Chennai Super Kings management has been sharing the videos of the training sessions and practice matches with their fans on social media.

In a recent video shared on CSK’s official Twitter account, Sam Curran can be seen imitating Ravindra Jadeja’s sword celebration. The incident occurred during CSK’s practice match when Ravindra smashed a six with Sam Curran on the non-striker’s end.

Earlier, Sam Curran had mentioned that he enjoyed playing in IPL 2020 and has learned a lot from the tournament. “Really enjoyed the IPL and feel I have taken my game to a different standard in terms of my learning. I took a lot away from that group and the coaching staff at Chennai. I feel my game has improved since I went there and I want to keep trying to improve and become a regular,” the English all-rounder Curran said.

Curran played in all 14 matches for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020. He scored 186 runs in 11 innings along with a fifty. He was also the highest wicket-taker for CSK with 13 wickets in 13 innings. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja will be back on the field after three months. The left-handed batsman Jadeja suffered an injury during India vs Australia Test series last year.

Due to the injury, Jadeja could not take part in the Test, ODI, and T20I series against England earlier this year. However, he has totally recovered and will play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021. Chennai Super Kings starts their IPL journey with the match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday (April 10) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
