Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad locked horns with each other in the IPL 2024 final on Sunday, May 26. In the encounter, KKR tasted a one-sided victory by crushing SRH by a huge margin.

With a stunning bowling show, the Shreyas Iyer-led KKR dismantled SRH for just 113 in 1st innings. SRH's top order fell like a house of cards, as they lost their match by 8 wickets.

After the victory, Shahrukh Khan was on the top of his happiness. He thanked KKR players and KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir on the field. He thanked the former India opener for his contribution to the lead the side to victory.

KKR vs SRH IPL 2024 Final Match Report

Elaborating on the KKR vs SRH IPL 2024 final match, SRH won the toss and opted to bat first. They lost their three top-order batsmen for single digits- as Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Rahul Tripathi got out for 2,0 and, 9 respectively.

Aiden Markram and Nitish Reddy also failed with the bat, getting out for 20 and 13 respectively. Even Heinrich Klaasen failed to capture runs towards the end, getting out for 16. Pat Cummins batted like a lone warrior for SRH's rescue toward the end with his most 24 runs, taking SRH to cross 100 runs on the board.

SRH finished with 113-10 in the end. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Venkatesh Iyer hit 39 and 52 respectively to grab victory for KKR by 2 wickets in 10.3 overs. KKR won their third IPL title and Gautam Gambhir has earned a lot of credit for his mentorship. He was appointed as KKR mentor ahead of the IPL 2024 season.

KKR was the top team in the points table during the league stage. They had 20 points with 9 wins and 3 defeats across 14 matches. Later, they crushed Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 1 match to book a berth in the final. Later, they outplayed them once again to win the crown.
