Pakistan captain Shan Masood is usually a calm captain but Pakistan's position in the first Test made him lose his temper. The incident took place during the first Test of the series between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi.

In a video that has been widely circulated around social media, Shan Masood is seen having an animated discussion with the team's head coach Jason Gillespie, and Pakistan's coaching staff. Masood was clearly not happy with something on the field.

While the coaching staff was trying to calm him down, Gillespie did not utter a word and was listening to the skipper. Both Shan Masood and Jason Gillespie went inside the dressing room to speak about the matter. The ongoing Test series against Bangladesh is Gillespie's first assignment as Pakistan's head coach in Test cricket

Pakistan revive after losing early wickets

The match hasn't quite gone like Pakistan would have liked it to. After being put into bat, they lost their top three wickets for just 16 runs. However, Saim Ayub and vice-captain Saud Shakeel steadied the ship with brilliant knocks.

Ayub was dismissed for 56 but the situation was about to get even worse for Bangladesh. Mohammad Rizwan arrived at the crease and took the Bangladesh's spinners on. Shakeel and Rizwan tormented Bangladesh's bowlers on a pitch that had settled after the early moisture.

Shakeel was dismissed for 141 by the offspinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz. But Rizwan stayed on at the other end and kept piling on the runs. He remained unbeaten on 171 when Pakistan captain Shan Masood decided to declare the innings at 448-6.

Bangladesh replied with a strong fightback

In reply, Bangladesh were more cautious in their approach. However, they lost two quick wickets as Zakir Hasan and skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto were dismissed in quick succession. But Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque steadied the ship with a useful partnership.

Mominul was dismissed for a well-made fifty while Shadman was unlucky not to get to a well-deserved hundred. At 218-5, it looked like Pakistan would wrap up the tail quickly but Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das had other ideas.

Das scored a quickfire 56 off 78 balls to provide the innings much-needed momentum. On the other end. Rahim kept batting and reached a well-deserved hundred. He formed a marathon partnership with Mehidy Hasan Miraz which broke Pakistan's back and took Bangladesh into the lead.

Rahim missed out on a well-deserved double hundred and was dismissed for 191. But despite missing out on the milestone, he had taken Bangladesh into a position where they can dream of a win now. Meanwhile, Miraz batted well for a well-deserved half-century and was dismissed for 77.
