Trinbago Knight Riders batter Shaqkere Parris came up with a massive effort with the bat in the game against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the ongoing Carribean Premier League (CPL) 2024. The 19th match of the tournament between the teams took place on Wednesday (18th September) in Trinidad.

Shaqkere Parris, who opened the innings for Trinbago Knight Riders, in the chase of 149 runs, gave a vital start to his team. The right-hander played some glorious shots in his innings and made sure that he came up with a decent effort with the bat for his team in the crucial game of the tournament.

During his stay at the crease, Shaqkere Parris came up with a sensational six that caught the attention of many. The right-hander got his timing to perfection and made sure that he gave his everything and put the bowler under pressure with his brutal power-hitting.

On the 5th ball of Gudakesh Motie's first over, Shaqkere Parris made a mockery of the bowler. The spinner bowled a full delivery that was turning away. The batter didn't care about the turn and hit across the line as he came up with the mighty slog and hit it from the meat of the bat.

The ball was in the arc, and Shaqkere Parris seized an opportunity to hit it for a massive six. The batter hit the ball over the roof and what caught the attention of many was the distance of the maximum, which showed 124 meters, one of the biggest sixes in the game.

Shaqkere Parris played a decent hand for his team but couldn't carry on the start that he got. The young talented batter ended with the innings of 29 runs off 29 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 100 and also slammed 2 fours and 2 sixes in his innings, helping his team go past 50 runs.

But after his wicket, Trinbago Knight Riders lost quick wickets and were left tottering at 89/5. However, Tim David (31*) and Andre Russell (36*) came up with magnificent efforts with the bat and helped the team win the game by 5 wickets with 4 balls to spare.

Andre Russell, who won Player of the Match, spoke about his performance, saying that he was struggling to get going after his ankle injury but he is delighted to be back on the field. He revealed his conversation with Tim David, revealing he told his partner that they needed to hit 8 sixes in 24 balls. He explained:

"It feels good to be back in the middle. Struggling since that ankle injury, but these guys have been doing an amazing job to get me back on the field. Doing whatever the physio wants me to do, that needs some dedication. I know I can hit sixes, I know David is a six-hitter as well. I said to Tim we have to get 8 sixes in 24 balls.

"Based on the batting we have in our team, these things (losing wickets) do happen. I think the game shouldn't have come down so far. But these games entertain the crowd, they enjoy it (when things go down to the wire.)," he concluded.
