Imam-ul-Haq suffers jaw injury after nasty blow in 3rd ODI
Earlier in the match, Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq suffered a scary injury during the third ODI against New Zealand at Bay Oval on Saturday. While trying to take a quick single in the third over, a fielder's throw bounced awkwardly and hit him on the jaw through the grill of his helmet.
The imam immediately collapsed in pain, clutching his face. The physio rushed in to treat him, and he was eventually stretchered off the field. The 29-year-old was declared retired hurt after the blow as he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance for further assessment and treatment.

Meanwhile, Daryl Mitchell made history on Saturday by becoming the fastest New Zealand batter to reach 2000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs). The star all-rounder achieved this milestone during the third ODI against Pakistan on April 5 at Bay Oval, where he scored 43 runs in the match.
Mitchell reached the mark in just 47 innings, breaking the previous record held by Andrew Jones, who had taken 52 innings to reach 2000 runs in ODI cricket. His knock played a key role in the Black Caps’ 43 runs in the final ODI as they whitewashed Pakistan in the series 3-0.

Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan said that he was extremely disappointed with the 0-3 ODI series loss to the Kiwis after they lost the T20I series to the hosts with a 1-4 margin.
Rizwan said at the post-match presentation, “Disappointing series for us. Babar played well, with two fifties in this series. I give credit to New Zealand in all three departments. It’s difficult conditions for us here, but they played well in Asian conditions as well."
