Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings are taking on Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 of the ongoing IPL 2025. The match is taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Punjab Kings will be desperate to win the game and qualify for the final for the first time since 2014 and win their first-ever IPL trophy.
RCB already in the final
The winner of the match will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the title-decider while the loser will be eliminated.
Shreyas Iyer & Co. had the chance to qualify for the final earlier this week but they suffered a humiliating loss in the first qualifier against RCB.
Punjab Kings were completely outplayed in the game and lost it by 8 wickets after being bowled out for just 101 runs. They will be looking to bounce back and come up with a good show against Mumbai Indians.
Unlike Punjab, Mumbai are coming into this game on the back of a win. The five-time IPL champions thrashed Gujarat Titans by 20 runs in the Eliminator and will be fancying their chances against Punjab as well.

Iyer escapes serious inury
Ahead of the Qualifier 2, there was a minor accident on the field involving Shreyas Iyer but fortunately, the Punjab captain did not suffer any serious injury. It happened when the Punjab players were walking out on the field.
Just as they stepped out, a light drizzle began to fall and Shreyas Iyer decided to have some fun. The right-handed batsman started running around the fireworks in a playful manner.
During that light-hearted moment, something seemed to get into his eyes, causing discomfort. However, it was nothing serious and Iyer looked fine shortly after.

Meanwhile, Iyer won the toss and opted to field first. However, even before a ball could be bowled, rain made its presence felt in Ahmedabad.
