Indian batter Shreyas Iyer imitated his Kolkata Knight Riders teammate Sunil Narine's bowling action during the ongoing Buchi Babu Tournament match against TNCA XI.

Shreyas Iyer copied Sunil Narine's action instead of his regular style, and the video quickly went viral on social media.

Under Gautam Gambhir's tenure as India's head coach, batters have been taking up bowling roles.

Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, and Suryakumar Yadav rolled their arms during the white-ball series in Sri Lanka. Wicketkeepers Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan have also bowled in recent times.

TNCA XI scored 294 runs for the loss of five wickets against Mumbai on Day 1 of the match in the Buchi Babu Trophy.

Pradosh Ranjan Paul (65), Baba Indrajith (61), and Boopathi Vaishna Kumar (63*) scored half-centuries. TNCA XI are heading towards a good total in their first innings.

Shreyas Iyer decided to bowl the final over of TNCA XI’s first innings on Day 1 at the Sri Ramakrishna College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore on Tuesday.

The Indian middle-order batter grabbed the attention of cricket enthusiasts by imitating the bowling action of Sunil Narine in the match.

Mumbai skipper Sarfaraz Khan handed the ball to Iyer to bowl the final over of the day.

The part-time spinner conceded just a single run from the first five balls but was hit for a six on the final delivery by R. Sonu Yadav. TNCA XI finished the opening day's play with a score of 294/5.

Here is a video showing Iyer imitating Sunil Narine's bowling action during the match between Mumbai and TNCA XI in the Buchi Babu Tournament.

Iyer and Sunil Narine have been teammates since the former joined Kolkata Knight Riders after the IPL 2022 mega-auction.

The duo were part of the winning campaign in IPL 2024. Narine was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the prestigious T20 tournament under Iyer's captaincy.

Shreyas Iyer To Lead Team D In Duleep Trophy 2024

Iyer has returned to red-ball cricket after the Ranji Trophy final in March.

He was dropped from the central contract and hasn't played Test cricket for India since the second Test against England in Vizag. After the Buchi Babu Tournament, Iyer will lead Team D in the 2024 Duleep Trophy.

The Indian batter has struggled to score runs in Test cricket. Iyer has managed only 187 runs in 12 innings at an average of 17.00, with a highest score of 35 since January 2023.

He will compete with Sarfaraz Khan and KL Rahul for a middle-order position in the upcoming series against Bangladesh.

India has a busy Test schedule over the next four months. The Rohit Sharma-led team will start with the two-Test series against Bangladesh and then play three Tests against New Zealand.

They will travel to Australia in November for five matches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25.
