The Asia Cup 2025 clash between India and Pakistan in Dubai on September 14 ended up in a controversy over the refusal of Suryakumar Yadav and his players to shake hands with the Men in Green after their seven-wicket victory. Amidst the controversy, Shubman Gill raised eyebrows with his gesture during the thrilling India vs Pakistan clash in Dubai.

Actually, Shubman Gill was caught on camera using abusive language during India’s successful chase, adding fire to the controversy. The incident unfolded on the last ball of the 15th over when India was comfortably chasing the 128-run target against Pakistan on Sunday.

As the Men in Blue cruised towards the victory, Shubman Gill was seen enjoying the moment alongside teammates, including Abhishek Sharma, when Shivam Dube smashed a massive six off Pakistan’s young off-spinner and opening batter Saim Ayub.

Dube stepped out of his crease, advanced down the pitch, and lofted the tossed-up delivery by Saim Ayub over the long-on boundary for a big hit. Dube is known as a powerful hitter, especially against spin bowling, and he got the massive six through his typical aggressive style.

As this maximum took India inches close to the victory, the Indian camp celebrated the hit. During this celebratory moment, the Indian vice-captain’s excitement got the better of him, and he was caught on camera hurling abuse. He was caught saying “Bah****d” while expressing his amazement.

Shubman Gill caught abusing during a celebration

This was not the first time Gill was caught abusing the stump mic. Earlier, India’s Test captain was caught hurling abuse on the Australia tour this year and the most recent England tour.

Interestingly, Saim Ayub was the sole Pakistani bowler who troubled Indian batters and got all three wickets during the Asia Cup 2025 clash in Dubai. Gill failed to impress with the bat as the off-spinner removed the Indian star for just 10 runs off 7 balls in the high-octane match.

Saim Ayub’s clever carrom ball sends Shubman Gill packing in Asia Cup 2025 clash

Saim struck in his first over by dismissing Gill, who had been in terrific form. The right-handed batter was looking to defend a delivery from Ayub, but he misjudged a clever carrom ball that dipped sharply outside off. As Gill moved forward to play the ball, it spun away, leaving him stranded.

And Mohammad Haris completed a sharp stumping that sent Gill back to the pavilion. The Pakistani all-rounder then removed Abhishek Sharma (31) and Tilak Varma (31), but Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeaten 47* managed to power India to a thrilling win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 clash.

Notably, the India vs Pakistan T20I rivalry continues to favor the team batting second, with this Asia Cup 2025 clash marking the eighth time in the last nine encounters that the chasing side has emerged victorious. The only exception is the high-profile T20 World Cup match in New York last year, where the team batting first won the game.
