Shubman Gill questions injured Akash Deep about taking the injection
India have been troubled by the English batters during the final innings of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.
The England National Cricket Team have made life hard for the Indian bowlers and put Shubman Gill under tremendous pressure while chasing the target.
As Harry Brook and Joe Root were taking the Indian bowlers to the cleaners, Shubman Gill was seen asking injured Akash Deep to get ready to bowl, despite suffering the blow just before lunch.
Notably, Akash Deep was hit on his shin when Harry Brook hit a delivery straight back to the bowler during the morning session on Day 4 of the fifth Test.
After the lunch, Shubman Gill used Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna in tandem, before bringing in Washington Sundar, who couldn't do any damage.
Indian skipper, then, decided to revert to pace, and asked Akash Deep, "Injection liya kya tum?". Gill meant to ask his pacer if he had taken a painkiller shot and was ready to bowl.
He was desperate to bring Akash Deep back into the attack, and the former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar, while speaking on-air, said: “It shows Gill wants to go back to pace again after lunch.”

India will have to do what they did in England's first innings - Dinesh Karthik
Speaking ahead of the play on Day 4, former India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik said that spin-bowling will play a big part in the final innings.
"India will have to do what they did in England's first innings and bowl a lot of pace consistently - but I do think spin will play a part. Will it be a big part? It could be forced to if the fast bowlers don't strike early on but ideally the pacers should take 60-70 per cent of the wickets," Karthik said during Sky Sports' broadcast.
"Seamers Deep and Siraj will have a big role to play. Deep gets the ball to seam away and looks like a guy that can get wickets - if he gets his length right and hits that eight-metre mark," Karthik added.
Meanwhile, former India head coach Ravi Shastri said that England need to bat out of their skins to get the job done. He said:
"The surface has a lot of grass on it so things will happen quicker so if England get even close here I think they will have done twice the job they did at Headingley. They will have to bat out of their skins."
