Danny Morrison Corners Shubman Gill With a Marriage Question
Gill and Rahane walked out for the toss at the Eden Gardens, which is expected to produce a high-scoring game tonight. The home captain, Ajinkya Rahane, turned lucky as the coin fell in his favor, and KKR opted to bowl first in the match.
Rahane said that they made the decision because they were not aware of how the pitch would play and wanted to get a better idea about it by bowling first. He also confirmed the inclusion of Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Moeen Ali in the playing XI.
Shubman Gill came next to talk to presenter Danny Morrison, and after a small conversation,n the latter playfully teased Gill during the pre-match chat.
“You're looking good, wedding bells around the corner? Getting married soon?” Danny Morrison asked with a grin. This question caught the GT skipper by surprise, and he looked visibly uncomfortable.
However, Gill was quick to brush aside the question with a smile. “No, nothing like that,” he replied, laughing nervously.

He hits beautiful shots - Aaron Finch hails GT skipper
Speaking on ESPNCricinfo ahead of the match, the former Australia skipper, Aaron Finch, said that the Gujarat Titans are top contenders to easily qualify for the playoffs. He also showered rich praise on Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, and Sai Sudharsan and elaborated:
"Yeah, they are absolutely. They're probably the team to beat at the moment. They've shown right throughout the template that they go with. It's not all-out aggression and recklessness at the top of the order. It's two guys, well three guys if you include Jos, that just play what's in front of them. They don't try and overplay it. Sai Sudharsan is a wonderful player, square of the wicket, and he utilises that in the power play."
"Shubman Gill just goes about his game. He hits beautiful shots, almost plays a bit lower risk, but still manages to score at a high strike rate. So I think that they've got the balance perfect at the moment, particularly for the venue that they play at more often than not."
Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara, during the same interaction, said that GT would be hoping that their middle-order gets tested ahead of the business end of the competition. He stated:
"Yeah, I agree because their middle order or lower middle order hasn't had a lot of time at the crease. And they haven't been in a situation where they had to get the team out of trouble. So I don't mind that happening. If it was supposed to happen, it should happen in the next couple of games. And I'm guessing they'll be tested against quality KKR spin bowling. Because that is something which they haven't been tested so far."
