Shubman Gill's India started the proceedings of Day 3 of the Edgbaston Test with a blaster from pacer Mohammed Siraj. Siraj dismissed Joe Root and English skipper Ben Stokes on consecutive balls and sent half of the England team back to the dugout with less than 100 on the board.
However, ever since the arrival of Jamie Smith on the pitch, he has changed the course of the game. England are now on the charge as Harry Brook and Jamie Smith are beating the crap out of the Indian pacers.
The only possibility of a wicket was created when Ravindra Jadeja bowled to Harry Brook, and he edged a quicker ball to the first slip.
Watch: Shubman Gill hit on the head by Harry Brook
Indian skipper Shubman Gill expanded the field, with only he himself in the slip cordon. Harry Brook, the aggressive English batter, looked to cut a quicker ball from Jadeja and, in an attempt to do so, edged it to the player at first slip.
But the ball seemingly travelled quickly, and also Gill at first slip didn't have the reflexes to hold on to it. However, Gill not only missed an opportunity, but he was also hit by the ball on his head, as a result of which he immediately fell, rolling on the ground.

Jamie Smith and Harry Brook have changed gears for England
England looked in deep struggled when they lost two early wickets on Day 3, which also included the big wicket of English veteran Joe Root. This was immediately followed by Ben Stokes’s dismissal for a golden duck.
However, Jamie Smith, who came in to bat as England's fourth batter for the Day, made his intentions very clear ever since he arrived on the pitch. He started playing his shorts without waiting and in no time went to his fifty.
Jamie Smith’s extraordinary striking induced some charge into Harry Brook as well, who went after the Indian bowlers. The two, in no time, built a 150+ run partnership, and both these batters were also nearing their hundreds.
Jamie Smith scores a hundred in no time at Birmingham
The batter seems to unleash his fury on the Indian bowlers for having dismissed his former teammates. Ever since Jamie Smith made it to the field, he has been toiling with every possible bowler on the field.
He revealed about fearing Jasprit Bumrah, and since the masterclass bowler is not in the 11, this seems to have added fuel to Jamie Smith’s extraordinary batting tactics.
Jamie scored his century off just 82 balls, as the batter reached his hundred just before the call for Lunch with 14 fours, 3 sixes and a strike rate of nearly 125. Harry Brook on the other end also awaits a hundred as he is left of 91, as England go for Lunch at 249/5.
