Watch: Shubman Gill’s authority tested as veteran player brutally rejects orders in Edgbaston Test

Several on-field conversations between Indian players were caught on the stump mic, and several moments went viral during the second Test at Edgbaston. From continuous remarks of vice-captain Rishabh Pant, who is a character behind the stumps, to Shubman Gill's order being waved off by a senior player.
On the last day of play, Ravindra Jadeja's video of refusing the Indian captain Shubman Gill's orders surfaced on the internet. This was followed by Shubman Gill's return to his position with his head down.
This act has taken the internet by storm. Though the exact instance of the game wasn't revealed in the video, it was probably an incident during the partnership of England skipper Ben Stokes and Jamie Smith for the 6th English wicket.
What were Shubman Gill's exact words that Jadeja defied?
Shubman Gill, the newly announced Indian captain for the longest format of the game, was observed giving insights to Ravindra Jadeja on Ben Stokes' probable mindset for the delivery to follow.

He said that the long-on fielder should be brought forward, luring Stokes to step forward and hit the ball towards the straight boundary.
Jadeja answered this, saying, Even if the batter is lured to hitting towards the straight boundary, there should be someone placed in that position to take the catch; otherwise, what's the use?.
Gill said, “Jaddu bhai, usko bhi upar lelo yaar. Marne do ek aage badke.”
Jadeja replied, “Usko udhar kuch kaam nahi hai. At least jaaye toh pakadne wala bhi toh hona chaiye niche. Khada toh udhar bhi kardo, but pakadne wala toh chaiye."

Shubman Gill - The first Asian skipper to win a Test at Edgbaston
Shubman Gill becomes the first Indian skipper to have defeated England at Edgbaston. Not only did he win the match here, but he was the major contributor with the bat, scoring 430 runs single-handedly across both innings of the game.
In the iconic innings, Shubman Gill broke 32 records for himself and next made a major milestone with India scoring 1000+ runs in the Test match. He is not only the first Indian but also the first Asian captain to win at Edgbaston.
Ravindra Jadeja, one of the major contributors with the bat for India
India's unsung hero, probably the most suitable target for the opposition in Tests. Jadeja has played stunningly on several occasions for India, not only here at Edgbaston but also on several occasions before.
With the bat or with the ball, across any format of the game, Ravindra Jadeja has been India's go-to man for over a decade in Indian cricket. This time around, as well, he contributed significantly to India's success, scoring twin fifties at Birmingham.
He scored 89 runs in the first innings and backed it with another 69* in the second innings, building onto a double-century partnership alongside skipper Gill in the first and a hundred-run partnership for the same pair in the second innings.
