Melbourne Stars batter Ben Duckett came up with a magical effort on the field to remove D'Arcy Short during the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 match against the Adelaide Strikers. The game between the two teams is taking place at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.

D'Arcy Short was the shining light for the Adelaide Strikers with the bat in the ongoing match against the Melbourne Stars. The left-hander came to bat at No.3 after the team lost the wicket of skipper Matthew Short (11) for just 17 runs in the third over of the innings.

D'Arcy Short plays a vital innings for Adelaide Strikers

As soon as he arrived at the crease, he looked in threatening mode. The left-hander attacked the Melbourne Stars bowlers from the start and smashed them all over the park. The Southpaw hardly put a foot wrong in his innings, and despite wickets falling at the other end, he kept scoring runs at the other end.

With the way D'Arcy Short was going, it needed something special to remove him, and the Melbourne Stars batter Duckett came up exactly with it. The batter was removed by Peter Siddle, but the credit for that goes to the England National Cricket Team batter.

Peter Siddle bowled an overpitched delivery outside off, to which D'Arcy Short cleared his front leg and bent his back leg to thrash it over the covers. He got his timing right and muddled the ball, and it seemed that the ball would go for a four with how strongly he hit.

However, Ben Duckett had other ideas. The England National Cricket Team batter timed his jump to perfect at extra cover. He plucked it out of thin air with his right hand and sent the batter packing to give his team a moment to cherish.

D'Arcy Short ended with an inning of 60 runs off 42 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 143 and also hit 8 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Thanks to his innings with the bat, Adelaide Strikers posted a massive total of 165 runs on the board in their quota of 20 overs.

Ben Duckett bags a golden duck in the chase as Matthew Short removes him

Chasing the target, Melbourne Stars had a horrible start as they lost Ben Duckett for the golden duck. The left-hander was trapped in lbw by Adelaide Strikers skipper Matthew Short on the third ball of the first over.

Matthew Short bowled an in-drifter and got the ball to skid on. The ball hit Ben Duckett's plumb in front of the middle stump. It hit him on the back leg and the umpire had no hesitation in raising the finger. The batter was stuck on the back foot and he tried to poke into the off-side.
