Virat Kohli came up with a hilarious reaction after Rahul Dravid told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the India batting stalwart will be available for the 2028 Olympics.

The Indian team met the PM on Thursday (July 4) after landing in the country following the victorious campaign in the recently-concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2024. India beat South Africa by seven runs in the final on last Saturday (June 29) to win the T20 World Cup for the second time and first time since 2007. The trophy is India's first ICC trophy in 11 years.

Soon after landing in New Delhi, the players and the support staff members as well as the BCCI president and secretary visited the PM's residence in the national capital. The PM congratulated the team on the monumental win before talking to the players and the coaches about the tournament and cricket in general.

During the same interaction, the PM also mentioned about cricket's inclusion in the 2028 Olympics which is scheduled to be held in Los Angeles. Cricket will make a return to the multi-sports event after a gap of 128 years. Cricket has featured in the Olympics only once so far, way back in 1928 when only Great Britain and France competed in the event.

Responding to PM Modi's comments, Rahul Dravid said that being a part of the Olympics will be a matter of pride for cricket. The legendary cricketer also said that he is hopeful of the BCCI preparing well for the Olympics before stating that a number of players from the T20 World Cup-winning squad would definitely feature in the event.

"The Olympics is such a big event, having cricket in it is a matter of pride for cricket.

"I am fully confident that whoever will be on the board at that time will make complete preparations for that tournament. Hopefully, many of the players from this team will be there," said Rahul Dravid.

Speaking further, the former India coach playfully pointed at Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and called them youngsters, saying: "There are quite a few young players like Rohit and Virat."

It was followed by a hilarious reaction from Virat Kohli as the former India skipper folded his hands as if to say, 'spare me'.
