India National Cricket Team T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav is enjoying his time off the Cricket. The batter made an appearance at the home ground of the baseball team New York Yankees and also was presented with a special customized jersey.

Suryakumar Yadav has been spending quality time with his family. This comes after, under his leadership India National Cricket Team won the three-match series against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team by the margin of 3-0 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.

This was Suryakumar Yadav's first assignment as the full-time captain of the T20I team and he made sure that he started his captaincy on high. The right-hander looked extremely cool and calm as the skipper of the team and ensured that he brought the best out of his team.

Suryakumar Yadav led from the front in the series as he played magnificently well and helped his team complete a 3-0 whitewash. Apart from the batting heroics, he also came up with a superlative effort with the ball as in the third game, he bowled the last over and defended the target to help his team win.

Suryakumar Yadav picked two wickets in the last over and based on his sensational effort, the match between the India National Cricket Team and the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team ended in a tie. The T20 World Cup 2024 winners then went on to win the Super over and completed a 3-0 whitewash in the team.

Suryakumar Yadav appointed as T20I captain of India

Suryakumar Yadav was appointed as the full-time captain of the India National Cricket Team after Rohit Sharma retired from the format following the T20 World Cup 2024. The team needed a skipper and he got the backing of the head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar.

Suryakumar Yadav pipped Hardik Pandya to take the role of the Team. This came as a huge surprise for many because the all-rounder was all set to be the captain of the team as he was the vice-captain in the T20 World Cup 2024. Also, Hardik was seen as the future leader as he was the skipper of the team when the seniors were rested after the T20 World Cup 2022.

When asked about Hardik Pandya's snub as captain, chief selector Ajit Agarkar mentioned that Hardik Pandya's injury history and workload management were major factors behind him not getting captaincy.
