Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) sealed their maiden IPL title with a thrilling six-run victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Swastik Chikara stole the spotlight by imitating Virat Kohli’s iconic “Gangnam Style” dance from the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Virat Kohli was the top scorer for Royal Challengers Bengaluru with 43 runs off 35 balls. The Bengaluru side posted a total of 190 for 9. Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers for Punjab Kings, finishing with three wickets. RCB’s bowlers defended the total by restricting Punjab to 184 for 7.

Rajat Patidar received the IPL 2025 trophy from BCCI officials and joined his Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammates on the stage to begin the celebrations. The squad erupted with joy, with Patidar lifting the trophy high in the air.

Swastik Chikara entertained fans with his dance moves. He imitated Virat Kohli’s famous ‘Gangnam Style’ jig from the 2013 Champions Trophy, bringing back memories of a young Kohli and adding to the festive mood on the podium.

The IPL franchise signed the young batter for a base price of ₹30 lakh. Chikara has developed a strong bond and mutual respect with Kohli at the club.

Swastik Chikara Becomes a Regular Companion to Virat Kohli

The young player has become a regular companion to Virat Kohli. Teammates Tim David and Liam Livingstone jokingly had to intervene to give Kohli some space before posing for a team photograph a few days ago.

Swastik Chikara first caught attention before the mega auction by topping the scoring charts in last year’s Uttar Pradesh T20 League, amassing 499 runs in 12 innings at an impressive strike rate of 185.50.

The young batter also made headlines earlier this year with a massive 381 runs off 343 balls in a CK Nayudu Trophy match for Uttar Pradesh. Many expected him to feature for RCB during the IPL, but he ended up spending the entire season on the bench.

Krunal Pandya Named Player of the Match in IPL 2025 Final

Apart from Virat Kohli, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got key contributions from Mayank Agarwal (24), Rajat Patidar (26), Liam Livingstone (25), and Jitesh Sharma (24). These efforts helped the team post a competitive total of 190.

For Punjab Kings, Kyle Jamieson took 3 wickets for 48 runs, while Shashank Singh’s unbeaten half-century stood out. Despite their efforts, Punjab could only reach 184 for 7.

Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar each claimed two crucial wickets, guiding Bengaluru to their maiden IPL title. Krunal Pandya earned the Player of the Match award for his impressive 4 overs, conceding 17 runs and taking 2 wickets.
