Hashmatullah Shahidi falls for a duck against South Africa
Afghanistan National Cricket Team are making their debut in the Champions Trophy. This was made possible after they delivered a brilliant performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, defeating giants like Pakistan and England.
Meanwhile, the Afghan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi was very disappointing with the bat in his team's Champions Trophy 2025 opener against the Proteas.
While chasing a huge target, he had a 4-ball stay in the middle and bagged a duck in the 15th over. On the fourth ball of the 15th over, Shahidi tried to attack Wiaan Mulder as he walked down the track and smashed the ball flat and hard.
However, the execution of the shot was not very good, and the ball went straight towards Temba Bavuma, who timed his jump to perfection to grab a sensational two-handed overhead catch.

"Looks a bit different that what we have been experiencing here, not sure how will it react. Will try to post a competitive total on the board. I have a lot of confidence in our bowling attack, today we have gone for a lone spinner in Shamsi and the rest are seamers."
