The dream run of the young India National Cricket Team batter Tilak Varma in T20I cricket finally ended during the third T20I against the England National Cricket Team on Tuesday, January 28.

Tilak Varma was cleaned up by the veteran England National Cricket Team leg-spinner Adil Rashid at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

Tilak Varma scored 336 runs between his two dismissals in T20I

Varma had a stellar run in T20I cricket since he got the opportunity to bat in the top order. He made sure not to disappoint his skipper, Suryakumar Yadav after he asked for the top-order position in the team himself.

Tilak Varma smashed back-to-back tons in the T20I series in South Africa and then played a match-winning knock in the second T20I against England in Chennai.

Following his performance in the Chennai T20I, he became the first-ever batter to score 300 T20I runs without being dismissed.

However, his dream run was ended in Rajkot. On the last ball of the 8th over, Adil Rashid bowled a gorgeous delivery and the Indian youngster tried to play it on back foot. Tilak Varma was not able to make any connection with the ball and the ball ripped through his stumps.

Varma was back in the hut after scoring 18 runs off 14 balls. He managed 336 runs between his two T20I dismissals in T20Is, which is a world record.

I enjoyed the last knock in Chennai - Tilak Varma

Speaking ahead of the match to the host broadcasters, Tilak Varma said that he was delighted to help India win the last match in Chennai. He said:

"I enjoyed the last knock in Chennai. Yeah, obviously, hitting a hundred is special, but from starting I have told you that I want to win games for my country. So, I have done well in the previous game in a tricky situation and I loved that innings."

Tilak Varma further revealed that his favorite stroke in cricket is pick-up shot and also explained the meaning of his celebration. He elaborated:

"(On pick-up shot) Yes, that's my favorite shot. If you look at the whole innings, I loved that pick-up shot and that shot over point. Before every match, I see the action of the bowler. I don't see much. I do a bit of analysis of the bowlers. (On celebration) Basically, I just want to give this to God. I have always believed in God and I just follow my process. I have done well in the long hair. I just want to maintain it."

Varma signed off by talking about his bonding with T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma. Notably, Varma started off his IPL career with Mumbai Indians and got the opportunity to share the dressing room with the likes of Rohit, Suryakumar, and Bumrah. He elaborated:

"When I started IPL, I played in Mumbai Indians. I used to spend a lot of time with Suryakumar bhai and Rohit bhai. Even now when I get time, I go to Mumbai to train with him. That has made the bonding more special. In my debut series, I have made good partnerships with Surya bhai. It feels special when you win games for your country.

"When I played in the first match, I was a bit surprised because Jofra Archer and Mark Wood were bowling really quick. I think they were bowling 150. That's what makes the bilateral series more special. When one game goes, you can prepare for the next and get ready for it.".
