Tim David finishes innings in style for RCB

After being invited to bat first in the match, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a good outing and they ended up posting a huge score of 205/5 on the board.

Virat Kohli and Phil Salt took the team off to a flying start with their 61-run partnership before Devdutt Padikkal joined forces with Kohli and added 95 runs.

Kohli, meanwhile, got out on the first ball in the 16th over, which was bowled by Jofra Archer for the score of 70 runs. After his dismissal, the RCB management decided to promote Tim David and sent him to bat at No.4.

Jofra Archer welcomed David in the middle with a short-length ball and followed it up with three more bouncers, with the last one being the most deadly.

On the last ball of the 16th over, Jofra Archer bowled a stunning bouncer at a high pace, and the ball took off after landing on the pitch. Tim David had no answer to the delivery, and he somehow managed to avoid getting hit by arching his back as the ball zipped past his nose.

Just after that delivery, David ran towards Archer and was seen having friendly words, most likely about the bouncers, and both players were seen laughing as well.

He's got a bit more form and confidence - Jofra Archer hailed

During an interaction on ESPNCricinfo ahead of the match, the former England batter Nick Knight said that Jofra Archer has got his form and confidence back. He said:

"Well, without wanting to pat myself on the back, I think when I was in here then, I said, just leave him alone, let him get on with his work because as Varun knows, it takes a little while. I know he's had quite a lot of cricket now, and he's got a bit more form and confidence, but that's as simple as it is for someone of his ability."

"There was a bit of talk about technically maybe going over a little bit, so he wasn't quite as high, and his release wasn't quite as tall, and therefore he wasn't getting quite as much bounce and pace out of the surface. Maybe that's true, but I think he's just got his confidence."

Knight added that Archer has once again started to hunt down stumps and varied his pace as well as length. He stated:

"I think he's hunting the stumps down a little bit better. He's a little bit more varied pace, he's a little bit more varied length. I thought in that series against India, I thought it was very predictable. It was banging it into the surface at all costs. So there's a little bit of confidence that he's got from feeling fit, feeling strong, feeling like he can run in now and control things."
