Travis Head fails in the WTC Final
The 31-year-old Australian batsman Travis Head loves to perform on the big stages. Travis Head has, time and again, brought out his very best in the big matches and has thrived under pressure.
In the previous two ICC Finals that Travis Head played against the India National Cricket Team, he won the Player of the Match awards. He registered the scores of 163 & 18 against India in the ICC World Test Championship 2023 Final and played a match-winning knock of 137 runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Final against the same team
However, Travis Head saw his first failure in the big ICC finals against the South Africa National Cricket Team. Travis Head was forced to come out to bat early after Usman Khawaja, Cameron Green, and Marnus Labuschagne walked back to the hut without scoring big.
Head tried to build a partnership with the modern-day batting great Steve Smith, but was unable to stay in the middle for very long. He was cleaned up by the left-arm pacer Marco Jansen in the 24th over after scoring 11 runs off 13 balls, with one four.
On the second ball of the over, Marco Jansen bowled a full ball angling down the leg, and Head looked to flick it. However, the Aussie batter only managed to get a faint tickle on it, and the ball went flying to the right of the keeper.
Kyle Verreynne did an exceptional job behind the stumps as he dived across and stunningly grabbed the catch one-handed to leave Australia struggling at 67/4. Travis Head was quite dejected after failing to score big.

If conditions suit when the clouds come in, he could be a handful - Stuart Broad on Marco Jansen
Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of the match, the pace-bowling legend Stuart Broad lauded the bowling attack of both South Africa and Australia. He elaborated:
"Well, being a former bowler, I'm going to lean on the bowling attacks. The Australian bowling attack has been so consistent for many years, a huge amount of experience, natural wicket takers. Nathan Lyon as a spinner can just hold an end until it starts to spin later in the game.
"And now look at the South African bowling attack, KG Rabada, one of my favourite bowlers in the world, makes things happen. If his emotions are where they need to be, he can break open a game really early. Marco Jansen, a really tall left-arm swing bowler, if conditions suit when the clouds come in, he could be a handful.
"So I think here at Lord's, as a bowling group, you look at moments where you could strike and get three or four wickets in an hour, and both bowling attacks have the ability to do that. Against batting lineups that you wouldn't say are dead certs of consistency, really, Marnus Labuschagne is going to open the batting for the first time in Test Cricket, Cam Green at three. It's a bit of an unusual-looking batting lineup from the Australian point of view, but I'm looking at the bowlers to make a big impact."
Stuart Broad opined that the Australia National Cricket Team have got an overall better bowling unit as they have highly experienced bowlers in the line-up. He said:
"Josh Hazlewood to play, yeah. They're playing their best bowling attack. Hazlewood's so consistent all around the world. I think particularly in England, he hits that great length. People talk about bowling full in England, but it doesn't mean half-volley where batters can just drive you.
"It's that length that you can't quite get to, and Hazelwood is the king of bowling that length. Starc,s got that ability to swing the ball full at great pace. Cummins just holds really heavy length, almost Australian length, with the aggressive short stuff. So they've got a lot of bases covered, both bowling attacks. You'd lean on probably the Aussies being slightly stronger."
