Rohit played a key role in India’s historic title win, amassing 257 runs at a strike rate of 156.70 and providing India with explosive starts, including crucial fifties against Australia and England.

However, Kohli failed to replicate his IPL 2024 form in the meg event but played a match-defining knock of 75 runs in the final, where India defeated South Africa by 7 runs to lift the prestigious cup.

Kohli, who earned him the Man of the Match award for his remarkable innings in the final, finished his T20I career as India's second-highest run-scorer, with 4,188 runs in 125 matches at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04.

Additionally, he remains the highest run scorer in men's T20 World Cups, amassing 1,292 runs in 33 innings across 35 matches from 2012 to 2024. Apart from Kohli-Rohit, Ravindra Jadeja also retired from T20I cricket after the mega event.
