Emotions ran high when Team India defeated South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 to win the competition. The victory finally ended Team India's long wait for a World Cup trophy.

The Men in Blue had not won a World Cup in any format since 2011 while they had last won the T20 World Cup way back in 2007. The pain of losing the ODI World Cup final in November last year was still fresh when Rohit Sharma & Co. launched their campaign in the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup.

At one stage, it looked like India would suffer another heartbreaking defeat as South Africa were firmly in the driver's seat and were looking destined to win the game. Chasing 177 runs, the Proteas were on 151/4 after 16 overs with a well-set Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller in the middle. The Indian players were looking glum as the match was just slipping away from them.

However, India's bowlers staged a remarkable comeback in the last four overs, conceding only 18 runs and taking 4 wickets to propel the team to a monumental win. India's players including senior pros such as Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Rohit Sharma failed to control their emotions after the win as they struggled to hold back the tears.

Rahul Dravid's brilliant reaction to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's hug:

The emotional players hugged and kissed each other as they celebrated the monumental victory in Barbados. The videos of those moments went viral in no time as the fans praised the players for their passion and commitment.

And now a new video has surfaced on the internet that shows head coach Rahul Dravid's reaction when Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma hugged each other after the win. Kohli was walking back to the dressing room while Rohit was coming out of it. The Indian superstars shared a warm embrace on the stairs. As Rohit and Kohli were hugging each other, Dravid was just walking past them. The legendary cricketer could be seen patting on Rohit's back before walking away.

Meanwhile, the T20 World Cup was Dravid's last assignment as the head coach of the Indian team. His original contract had ended after the ODI World Cup last year but the BCCI managed to convince him to stay till the T20 World Cup.

Rohit and Kohli also announced their retirement from T20Is after the victory in the final. Apart from them, veteran allrounder Ravindra Jadeja brought down the curtains on his T20I career as well.
