Multan Sultans’ wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan stole the show during his team’s PSL 2025 match against Islamabad United with a hilarious moment that got everyone laughing on April 23. Usman Khan hilariously asked Ubaid Shah to stay away from him at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
The funny scene unfolded in the third over of Islamabad United’s innings when young pacer Ubaid Shah delivered a short ball. The delivery found the edge of opener Sahibzada Farhan’s bat and went straight to Multan Sultans’ wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan.

Usman made no mistake and completed a clean catch, prompting a loud appeal for caught-behind that led to the umpire raising his finger, and Sahibzada Farhan had to walk out for 22 runs off 13 balls. But what happened next stole the spotlight during the PSL 2025 match.
Instead of celebrating the wicket in the usual way, Usman Khan turned and jokingly ran away from Ubaid Shah while waving his hand, as if playfully asking him to “stay away.” The gesture was caught on camera and quickly went viral across social media.
The light-hearted moment left his Multan Sultans teammates bursting into smiles. Moments later, Usman and Ubaid were soon seen sharing a high five and hugging each other in the team huddle, which highlighted the strong camaraderie between them.

What leads to Usman Khan’s funny jibe at Ubaid Shah?
Meanwhile, Usman Khan’s funny moment with teammate Ubaid Shah during the match against Islamabad United wasn’t just random; it was a playful reminder of a surprising incident from their earlier PSL 2025 game against Lahore Qalandars.
In that previous PSL match, Ubaid had taken an important wicket and got carried away in the excitement. As he jumped up to celebrate, his palm accidentally struck Usman on the head. Usman, who wasn't wearing a helmet, looked dazed by the unexpected hit for a few moments.
Thankfully, after a quick check by the medical team, Usman was fine and continued playing. His humorous gesture in the latest match was a light-hearted way to remind his teammate of the head-hit incident during the ongoing PSL 2025.
Mohammad Rizwan blames poor batting and poor execution for Multan's loss to Islamabad
On the other hand, Multan suffered a seven-wicket defeat against Islamabad in the 13th PSL 2025 clash on Wednesday. After the loss, Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan admitted that his team fell short by 15-20 runs and struggled to adapt as the pitch behaved differently in the second innings.
The wicketkeeper-batter felt a total above 180 would’ve been safer, but praised the Islamabad side for handling the death overs better with their experience. Rizwan also noted that his team didn’t execute their plans well, but remains hopeful about his team’s chances in the tournament.
We were 15-20 short, says Mohammad Rizwan
Mohammad Rizwan said at the post-match presentation ceremony, “We were 15-20 short; the ball was gripping a touch, and the second innings were completely different. We felt 180-plus was a safe score. The way they executed the death was good because of the experience, and we haven't executed our plans well.
There will always be pressure when you lose, and hopefully, we will improve going forward. The year we became champions, this is the same trend that happened, like losing the first 3, winning the 4th, and then losing the 5th. Hopefully, we can turn things around.
