BCCI Rejects Gautam Gambhir's Recommendation For Bowling Coach

Earlier this week, newly appointed Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir recommended Vinay Kumar for the bowling coach position. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suggested Zaheer Khan and Lakshmipathy Balaji.

The former Indian opener later proposed former South Africa fast bowler Morne Morkel, who had previously worked with him at the Lucknow Super Giants. Morkel also served as the Pakistan cricket team's bowling coach in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Gautam Gambhir will finalize his support staff before the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka. Former India player Abhishek Nayar, who previously worked with Gambhir as an assistant coach at KKR, is expected to join the new support team.
