Pakistan Champions start WCL 2025 with thrilling win over England

Meanwhile, Mohammad Hafeez showed his class once again, guiding the Pakistan Champions to a thrilling win in the opening match of the WCL 2025. After an early top-order collapse, Hafeez played a captain’s knock, scoring a crucial 54 off just 34 balls to steady the innings.

Pakistan had slipped to a worrying position early on, but Hafeez held firm and kept the scoreboard ticking. Towards the end, Aamer Yamin added valuable runs with a powerful cameo of 27 not out off only 13 balls and helped the team to post the competitive total of 160/9 in 20 overs.

Chasing the target, England Champions also had a poor start, losing both Alastair Cook and James Vince for just 7 runs each. But Phil Mustard and Ian Bell brought them back into the game with solid half-centuries.
