Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill had to come out to bat quite early in the second innings of the ongoing India vs Bangladesh Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

For the second time in a row in the ongoing first Test, captain Rohit Sharma failed to get going with the bat. The India skipper scored just 5 runs before being dismissed by Taskin Ahmed in the third over. Rohit had scored six runs in the first innings.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had scored 56 runs in the first innings, could not do well with the bat in the second innings. The young opener was dismissed for 10 by Nahid Rana in the seventh over. After the departure of both the openers, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli joined hands in the middle.

The duo steadied the ship and took India's score past the 50-run mark. Before that, Shubman Gill left Virat Kohli mighty impressed with his brilliant pull shot. The young batsman came up with the shot against Nahid Rana in the ninth over.

On the final ball of the over, the Bangladesh pacer bowled a short delivery and it was enough for Gill to hit it for a boundary. The India batsman fetched the ball from outside off stump and placed the ball between the fielders at mid-on and midwicket. Virat Kohli was left utterly impressed with the shot and his facial expression said it all.
