The other half of the Indian cricket team has arrived in England for the upcoming ODI series against England. India will face England in a three-match ODI series starting on July 14. The team has already begun their preparations for the ODIs, with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
The opening match of the series will be held in Birmingham. Ahead of the match, a joyful, mind-blowing video has caught cricket fans' attention across social media platforms.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are set to be back in action for India
The ODI series has already gained significant hype as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are set to feature for the Men in Blue again. Today (July 11) was the team's first practice session at the venue, where both Virat and Rohit were spotted being energetic on the field.
As both of the batting superstars retired from Tests and T20Is, only for ODIs, they assembled together for the national cricket team. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), as they play for two different teams- Virat Kohli with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rohit Sharma with the Mumbai Indians- there are very limited opportunities for them to play side by side in the same team.
Virat Kohli was uncertain for the England series because of injury
Last time, they took the field together for India during the India vs New Zealand ODI series at home, ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. However, when Virat was out of action due to a hamstring injury that he sustained during the IPL 2026 final, Rohit took part in the ODI series against Afghanistan on home soil.
Virat Kohli's participation in the upcoming ODIs against England was uncertain because of the hamstring injury. He went to the BCCI's Center of Excellence in Bengaluru for a fitness test. Today, during the training session, the Delhi-born looked as energetic as before, engaging with Rohit Sharma in a long conversation. Virat was animated while talking with 'Hitman' in Birmingham.

On the other side of the country, the T20I teams of India and England are engaged in the final match of the 5-match T20I series. The series is already captured by the host as they claimed three matches in a row, after a washed-out match in Durham.
Team India is in a prestige fight against England in Southampton
The second match of the series was evenly balanced until the 17th over of the second innings, when Ravi Bishnoi offered England 29 runs, which shifted the momentum of the match completely. The following two fixtures proved as one-sided events as the Shreyas Iyer-led team found no match against the home team in all departments.
In the third match, the Indian cricket team was bowled out for only 76 runs in the face of England's 201. In the next fixture, the Harry Brook-led team claimed a 9-wicket win against the 2026 T20 World Cup winners. Tonight's match in Southampton is a prestige fight for the Men in Blue, as they are yet to register a win in the ongoing UK tour.
