Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli had a shaky start to his innings in the ongoing game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 8th game of the tournament between the teams is taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Virat Kohli, who opened the innings for RCB, was outshined by Phil Salt as the keeper-batter took the attack to the Chennai Super Kings bowlers. The former RCB skipper got to face many balls in the play, but in whatever balls he faced, he looked scratchy.

Virat Kohli was tested a lot by Khaleel Ahmed with the new ball and this didn't go well with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter. The left-arm pacer on the second ball of the third over bowled a short ball that was angled outside off, and the batter tried to play the pull.

Virat Kohli was beaten by the extra bounce as the ball flew over the top edge. As the left-arm pacer beat him, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter didn't like that as he came up with the death stare for Khaleel Ahmed.

Virat Kohli, after that, struggled with his timing throughout and finally ended up giving his wicket to Noor Ahmad. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru attempted to hit a six against spinner but didn't get the proper connection as he was caught in the deep by Rachin Ravindra.

After he got out, Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Rajat Patidar was the top run-getter for his team. The middle-order batter slammed a brilliant half-century and ended up with the innings of 51 runs off 32 balls, slamming 4 fours and 3 sixes during his stay at the crease.

RCB posts a total of 196 runs against CSK in IPL 2025

The rest of the RCB batters had starts but failed to convert them. Tim David, in the end, came up with the brilliant cameo as he played a knock of unbeaten 22 runs off 8 balls to go with 1 four and three sixes. Thanks to his innings, the Rajat Patidar-led side posted a total of 196 runs.

For Chennai Super Kings, Noor Ahmad was the pick of the bowlers. The wrist-spinner returned with the figures of 3/36 in the 4 overs that he bowled. Apart from him, Matheesha Pathirana also picked two scalps while Khaleel Ahmed and Ravichandran Ashwin bagged one wicket each.
